Welcome to Dead Tour Tales. As we approach the Final Tour for Dead & Company - Summer of 2023, we wanted to document the experiences of fellow Deadheads and Tourheads we’ve met along the way as well as some of the legendary figures who’ve played a larger part in keeping the Wheel of the GD experience and culture rolling.

We’ve met some pretty cool friends and characters along the way and felt this was a good opportunity to sit down, shoot the shit and share with you some tales both adventuresome and sometimes tragic and usually psychadelic.

James lives and works in Santa Cruz, California.

James is a full-on girl dad with two beautiful daughters and a beautiful wife that he strives to deserve every day. Born in Upstate New York, he took off on the Grateful Dead Tour as a teenager in the early ‘90s and quickly made the West Coast his home. Having lived all up and down the coast (mostly San Francisco) he currently resides in Santa Cruz, where he likes to spend his free time surfing, going to shows, and taking his girls (and dog, Atlas) on fun adventures. And is oddly good at Galaga. Founder/Owner and mover and shaker for Always a Hoot Studios as well as Host of Dead Tour Tales. He’s still trying to figure out how the hell he got so lucky to live this beautiful life.
